Looks and sounds like a standard impossible pie recipe – not fancy, but nowhere near shitty. These have been easy, filling, nutritious (yes, really) meals for me off and on for almost 50 years. And for stretching ingredients in a pinch they* were lifesavers in lean times.
*Yes, Bisquick isn’t cheap. But flour and baking powder are.

I learned how to make this in 8th grade from a cooking class I took in school. I loved this dish so much when we learned to make it my teacher would save leftover cheeseburger pies from other periods that didn’t want the ones they made and would feed them to me
