As the title says; my first attempt at making sushi. Was quite satisfied with the look of it, but of course there’s room for improvement.
The rice was a little too “al dente” and also to the bland side. I think the most tricky part was actually cutting it into equally sized pieces (as you can see, some of them came out quite chunky).

All the pictures are great. Sushi is beautifully done, not too much mayo burying anything. The salmon roll looks well filled. I think a California roll? The nigiri sushi looks fresh and yummy.
As for your first attempt at making sushi, you must be a prodigy. Your cuts are very good. Well spaced and pretty even. Extremely well done! Thank you. Your efforts displaying your feast are appreciated.

Wow, that has to be the neatest first time making sushi I’ve ever seen! They look great, good job!

Your maki looks good. Your nigiri looks like musubi.

Very nice looks wise, i can only think of 3 tips for you (take it or leave it): 1. Use less rice, that way the rice/filling ratio is better,

    2. Try cutting your Maki roll in half and then lining them up being one other, then proceed to cut the pieces, that way it’s easier to get even piece size,

    3. Peel your cucumber (might be a personal thing, but I don’t enjoy the texture of cucumber peel, it’s too hard. I’ve seen people retain it to make a roll where it fits, like salmon skin where the other ingredients can stand up to the harder peel texture).

i love it when the chef takes care to shape the sushi into picture perfect pieces!

Some shiso and wasabi and take off!

I have a compliment. I don’t believe you. It’s that good. Unless you tossed out several batches before hand and then took a photo. The rolls in the lower left are imperfect, but the remainder looks restaurant quality. The nigiri especially– bravo.
