This is like if Costco opened up a food market in Chelsea Market lol

Think Ikea-level Japanese. Clean and efficiently made versions of casual food and a robot barista. Limit your expectations.

If this is where I think it is (back of the Muji store at Chelsea), then it’s a small counter in the back and I’m surprised by the press I’m seeing for it proportionate to what it is.
That said, my friend told me before that in Asia, Muji stores tend to have extensive packaged food/snack options so I’m wondering if they’re planning to have more of those here?
elazarrrrr
I just went and tried a bit of everything. Here’s my take:
TLDR: First, I’d describe this more as a food counter than a food hall. It’s a few offerings nested in a muji store. But if you’re looking for convenient, mostly handheld Japanese snacks and drinks you can eat on the go, this is a great addition to the larger market.
Onigiri: consistently tasty and they use a mix of grains and white rice that give extra flavor.
Beef curry: velvety texture, well spiced, perfect winter snack.
Dorayaki: the pancakes were a bit dry, I wouldn’t get this again.
Egg sando: tasty, but way more egg salad next time plz!!

Hojicha pudding: extremely delicious!! deep nutty flavor, smooth custardy texture. MVP
Matcha strawberry: GREAT.
Robot cappuccino: eh. fine. took maybe 15 minutes to make, feels more like a gimmick than a cool use of technology.
How bland is the food?
