I probably started saving bacon fat about a year ago rather than draining it off into a jar and then scraping it into the trash. On Sunday mornings, we like to cook pancakes and bacon for the kids so it adds up. I consolidated the jar on the left a while ago and store it in the fridge normally. I just consolidated the one on the right, which is obviously still hot right now. I figure I will keep saving it until the summer. I am trying to build out our outdoor entertaining space and a summer kitchen of sorts with a grill, a Blackstone, and a large double propane burner that I can heat big stock pots on for frying. Curious…how long does it keep?
I would sell it so you can pay for simvastatin. Short of that, mix some of it into refried beans. The most popular Mexican restaurants do this. Very flavorful.
If you care much for cocktails, bacon fat washed bourbon is spectacular
Not specifically for grilling, but I use mine for eggs. It seems so much slicker than other fats and tastes better too.
I’ve never had bacon fat fries, but I’ve had beef fat fries and they’re amazing. I might have to try bacon fat fries.
I add a little bit to my dog’s food (less than a 1/4 teaspoon) on a very rare occasion.
Use on your waffle maker to add some savory. Or heck, use it in the batter instead of vegetable oil.
Makes potatoes and eggs bad ass
Go buy some pop corn kernels and use a spoonful of it instead of oil. It makes the best popcorn ever
I’ve always wanted to save enough and deep fry a turkey in it.
I use it on almost anything savory. I add it into things like casseroles, soups, crock pot dishes, on the Blackstone, breakfast, veggies, the list is endless. I replace seed oils with it essentially
I’m sure you can use it like beef tallow, but I wouldn’t suggest putting it on your skin.
Pound it, coward
My brother puts a little on his dog’s food and she loves it
Basically in place of oil for pan frying anything that has a bit of its own flavor. You don’t want it overpowering something, but it accents a lot of things.
Use or anything and everything, lol. I’d try making some bread with it. Instead of adding butter or oil, use the bacon fat!
Add some to your oil when you deep fry chicken wings! You can thank me later!!
Add some to a can of refried beans when you are heating them up. Tastes delicious,
Search for bacon flavored booze.

Smoke a brisket and use this to coat when you wrap with butcher paper to avoid the stall.
Spaghetti sauce or lasagna
Carnitas or anything confit.
If you’re up for it, Flour tortillas.
Save it for the incoming apocalypse.
Make biscuits, pancakes, potatoes, really anything that calls for fat.
Although some doctors will disagree, use it every time you fry anything. I use it to sautée vegetables, fry eggs, potatoes, mushrooms, and onions. I’ve got a friend who works in a local butcher shop who gets me pork fat when they’re cutting up hogs because I no doubt use more bacon grease than I should.
stir fry with it and welcome to flavour town
homemade refried beans – the best
You can make dog treats with it
Refried beans is the answer.
Make Bacon candles
sell it
Everything! Lol
What I’m going to suggest is a complete waste of bacon fat, but please hear me out.
I too had a mason jar filled with bacon fat, and didn’t know what to do with it. I was told by the person I was living with that I had to get rid of it and that made me very sad.
But what to do with it?
At the time I only answer was to buy a tiki torch wick, warm up the bacon fat. place it in there, let the wick become saturated in the bacon fat to congeal.
Then I had the candle that made the entire neighborhood envy me, maybe even covet me. And I had a big barbecue that weekend, let’s just say if there’s a smell that a man/woman might enjoy, it’s a bacon fat candle.
poor in enemies’ sinks
Everything
I have made bacon grease chocolate chip cookies during the bacon craze of the past. They were extremely greasy but delicious. When they were in the oven, I just kept poking them on the baking tray until they seemed firm enough to not “flop.” I kept them in the freezer to eat slowly
Here is a [Taste of Home](https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/chocolate-chip-bacon-grease-cookies/) recipe where the bacon fat is used in conjunction butter
Straing out all the little bacon goodness my wife puts a fat dollop of bacon greese in a hot cast iron skillet then pours corn bread mix in it should sizzle , this flavor the corn bread and helps it release from the pan , or if she’s cooking beans she’ll put in a fat dollop and sizzle some onions init , bacon greese is great for seasoning cast iron , it’s southern standerd , beside most all stoves there is a jar or tub for bacon greese

Anything you can fry in oil, you can add bacon grease to.

Anytime I’m braising beef, it gets a spoonful or two for browning.
Fried eggs

Do you need a bump of flavor for your pan sauce? Bacon grease.
Green beans or Braised greens can always use a little fat.
If you’re into confit garlic, bacon grease is a great way to go
It also lasts years in the fridge it you keep it stable and covered.
I’ll give ya $10 if you drink it.
Use in place of oil or shortening in anything you are cooking that you want that wonderful bacon flavor in. As mentioned by others I used it to fry eggs, onions and even green beans.
Do a bacon fat washed bourbon and make a smoky old fashioned!
Liquid gold, It should give life to any vegetable it comes in contact with. Be sure to serve it to vegetarians to convert them back
