If the recipe doesn’t include red wine, a shallot, you are sadly selling your taste buds short. Also you want to season, dredge, sear them w butter and a good olive oil on all sides in a cast iron skillet(preferably) and then cook your shallots and garlic in the same pan. Use the drippings and other goodness deglaze w some red wine. You’re also going to want to get some carrots onions and celery in the mix. Also a couple fresh rosemary sprigs and a single bay leaf, “miss Jackson if your nasty”along with the salt and pepper you should be seasoning them with in the first place. After they are done, cook til falling off the bone, use that “juice” in that crock pot to make some “gravy” strain it first please serve on a bed of not instant mash potato’s. Here is a tip. Beef short ribs are my death row/last meal request every time!! Cook them as such !! IMO eating beef short ribs should be equivalent to your taste buds “busting a nut”. Anything less is just uncivilized !!!
