I’m off today but it’s 88°F and maintenance power washed all of the sidewalks including our smoke area yesterday, so I assume it’s actually looking pretty nice right now.
Which is very unsettling, considering how it’s February 3rd

Smoke area at my old work would go from snowdrifts that froze solid and got so big they’d physically block the bench to summers so dry and hot the ash bucket started a fire one time.

It was tolerable today. Usually, it is except for that one time the FOH supervisor caught the ash stash on fire. The whole kitchen smelled for the rest of the day.
