Deciding between the two grills attached. I was originally going to go with the napoleon just because I had one before I moved and loved it. I was at Home Depot this weekend and saw that they had the Weber grill I attached on sale for $299. Is the napoleon really going to be a 4x better? Open to any other suggestions for brands/models. Just me and the wife, no kids. I already have a smoker and a Blackstone grill. Thanks!

The three burner Weber spirit is pound for pound the best gas grill on the market. I have it and love it. $299 is great value.
The Weber is 100% the move here.
I have the Spirit and its great yes. But check out the new Spirit E425.
You’re kind of comparing apples and oranges and it sounds like you have your mind made up already
Weber. Especially with the other stuff you have, sounds like you will take care of it and keep it covered. Imo for $299 it’s a great option for you.
Get the Weber. Mine is a fucking champion, and that’s a fantastic price.
I feel like this is ragebait. OP says his price point is $300-$600, posts a grill at MSRP of $1200.
The actual comp is the Napoleon Freestyle 365 at $500. See that? The Napoleon comp costs less at MSRP than the Weber Spirti MSRP. The 525 is a genesis comp. Is the $1200 4 times better? Well, if you need a side burner it’s infintely better. If you need more grill space or 10k more btu’s, they yeah. It’s better. If you want a closed cart?
I’m still rocking my Weber from 10 years ago – I think the E310, and if and when it fails, i’ll replace it with another Weber propane grill. Hands down the best customer service I’ve ever experienced.
I managed to get a similar Napoleon at Lowe’s for $350, the XT 525 just doesn’t have the infrared side burner.
Pop into your local Lowe’s and see if they have any on clearance also, I would prefer the Napoleon to the Weber Spirit. I will say that if you’re only looking to spend $300 the Spirit is fantastic but if you can get the Napoleon for the same price I’d rather have it
I have the Rogue, paid ~$800 for it. It legitimately changed up my grill game and I have no regrets. Being able to get *hot* is what most average/cheap propane grills are missing. Napoleon makes sure you’re getting a lot of heat into the grill. Lid closed it’s getting you med-well in just a couple minutes a side. Before the Rogue I was having fits trying to get a good temp and a good sear because normal grills just don’t have the heat.
That said, I’ve heard fine things about the Spirit. I will say that for the price point I was not impressed with the Rogue fit/finish/assembly process. It was fine, the materials are good, but they’re not 2x or 3x as good as the Weber.
Had a Weber spirit for 8 years and was running strong until a wind storm knocked it over and busted up the manifold and broke the lid handle. I could have gotten new parts (parts availability on the Weber is indication they’re made to be kept long term) but it was only $150 more to get a brand new one. I figured grates and burner covers within the next year would have made up the rest of the cost difference so I just got a new one.
I’d do two grills at the same time man… fuckin A
I’d never buy a bbq without it being stainless and having a side burner.
1100$, holy shit. I got my 4 burner for a half ounce of weed 😅
Weber.
I have a two burner spirit from years ago that has been treated like crap and not maintained at all, still fires up every single time a cooks like a champ.
The infrared side burner is extremely awesome at searing steaks.
Two different price points, so you can’t directly compare those two grills.
If you look at comparable Napoleon/Webber grills, they’re pretty even. Once you get to that level of brand, you can’t really go wrong with any of them.
I have a Napoleon Prestige and wouldn’t trade it for the world. The side searer is a game changer, for no other reason that it gives you the ability to have a graye hot for searing while having the main grill at a much lower temp. Great for doing reverse-sear steaks.
Weber is a great investment… the fact you can buy any part when needed in the future is a huge bonus
Napoleon all day and the 15 year bumper to bumper warranty blows away anyone else in the market.
Don’t get propane?
If you’re choosing between grills and a Weber is a choice, it is the correct choice.
>Is the napoleon really going to be 4x better?
Even if it’s better, the relationship between increasing cost and increasing quality in almost anything is rarely 1:1 – there are diminishing returns. Once you get to the higher end of something (say the 85th percentile), you would have to spend much more money to “upgrade” to something marginally better.
I would go with the Napoleon myself. Weber has some build quality issues these days according to lots of reviews. The infrared side burner would also be gold for my purposes and use. I would buy the Prestige Pro model myself for the side infrared burner, rear infrared burner, and included rotisserie. They are not cheap to be sure, but the features, build quality, and warranty are solid.
Weber for sure
If you have a $1k budget, go with the Weber Genesis.
I have had this Weber for many years and I personally am very very happy with it. I would 100% recommend it
Napoleon 100%, anyone that say Weber has never owned a Napoleon.
I thought about this too, pretty much this EXACT comparison a while ago;
Go ahead and get the Spirit. Napoleons are good grills, but the Rogue isn’t that much different than a Spirit; it’s too small to really have “three zones” (it, meaningfully, only has two).
You will use the infrared burner approximately 3 times and then curse that it prevents you from collapsing that side for storage.
I would 100% get a Napoleon again, but only a bigger one and when I had more space. If you are really cramped for space, you can’t really throw money at the problem to get a premium feeling. I’d stick w/ the Spirit.
Also keep In mind most thermometer stuff you are going to use will be stand-alone, not part of the grill itself (the iGrill stuff is BS)
I obviously got the Rogue, I don’t quite regret it, because it’s still a great grill, but I did not need to buy it. I really didn’t get much more value out of it than I would have a Spirit.
Lowe’s had the 3 burner for 250$ last week marked down from 619. I called my dad and he RAN to go get it. I’ve had 2 webers and they’re best bang for your buck.
I had a Weber spirit for 8 years and replaced with a monument grill only because my family was outgrowing the weber (2 hungry boys and big BBQs).
