I’ve baked sugar cookies for decorating before but this last time I decided to cut one in half and it looks like it’s not fully cooked. Is it suppose to be that way? Ive watched a lot of videos but nobody ever cuts their cookies in half so I don’t have a reference on how they’re suppose to be. They’re rolled out to 10mm thickness and chilled for 5min in the freezer. I bake 6 at a time at 350 for 13min.

I’m no expert, btw, but have you tried baking them for longer/on a lower heat? They do seem like they are slightly underbaked in the middle.
whether or not they are they look good af
Get an oven thermometer. Your oven might not actually be accurate to your desired temperature.
10 mm seems pretty thick, at the bakeries I’ve worked at most decorated cookies are sheeted to 4-5 mm. I also would bake a bit longer, you want them to hold up after putting the icing on
How do they taste? I’ve had mine turn out like that and taste fine and other times been clearly underbaked.
I, personally, like my cookies this way. They’re more moist. As long as they got hot enough in the oven to kill any possible salmonella in the eggs, I’m happy. But if you prefer crispier cookies, then use a different strategy.
that’s what mine look like! I always get compliments on them on how soft they are but i’m always worried they are undercooked 😅
They look underbaked compared to the sugar cookies I make. These look gooey in the center, rather than flakey, but could be the photo resolution. I try to bake a couple min longer at least for such thick cookies. They look beautiful otherwise.
Underbaked. I would lower the oven temp and cook longer. I personally like to have a little more browning on the outside but I know some people don’t. I think it gives them a great flavor
I bake mine at 375 for 8 minutes. Mine aren’t that thick however.
As a professional cookie eater, slightly underbaked is the tastiest. Make em a tad thinner, but don’t change your baking time or temp
