Chuck has a soapy taste to me. I use it in burgers sometimes mixed with ground lamb sometimes. Sorry, but it’s the flavor for me. I’m a retired chef and I was paid a lot of money over the years for my skills and my pallet. 🥩😎

Steak looks good, and the bong is not that bad as far as bongs go. I would recommend getting fresh water more often as that really does make a difference with the taste of the smoke

Can someone ELI5 why I don’t really see chuck grilled/pan-seared like ribeyes or strips? Usually I see it ground for burger meat, but it always looks like the cut has a lot of marbling at the butcher.
Is it because the fatty tissue runs right through the middle of it and makes it off-putting? Does it have a mild flavor like a filet?

In all seriousness, I don’t usually let the “cut” of meat make my purchase for me. There are some fatty cuts that don’t look very good and there are other pieces that are leaner that look great. I basically just look and see

I’ve always loved Chuck steak, it’s the only steak we had when I was a kid.
I’ll buy one occasionally but at the prices of beef these days I normally just save up for a Ribeye Roast when it’s on sale and cut them down into 3 or 4 steaks.
