This shouldve been posted on r/foodporn they love it

  2. Next time you can’t open a jar just call me. I’ll say hey, I live in Phoenix AZ and can’t be there. If you say you do as well, I’ll say “it sounds like a big commitment I don’t really know you are you sure you can’t open it?”

    But ya call anyway.

Run the lid under hot water for a minute, or two, then tap around the lid with the handle of a butter knife, making little dents all around, then try to open it. Thos is a handy tip from a lesbian. 😉

One of those days that suck so bad that any small inconvenience at the end of the day makes me just give up and do something sad like microwave a stick of butter on wet noodles. Sorry OP, been there

Spank the bottom of the jar hard, it might open easier. Usually works for me

Metal lid? If so stick the back of a spoon under the thread and lift the metal lid a tiny bit to break the suction.

    Step 2: ***Parmigiano reggiano***

(And a bit of starchy pasta water) It is the greatest thing of all time, you must try it. Italians, please speak of your lord and savior – alfredo. [And so I am not killed by Italians, the noodle shape do matter.]

Edit: could you at least tell me why the downvote? Legitimate, not-from-a-jar alfredo is great. Just wanted to share that with OP. And because I embrace chaos, everybody gets an upvote now. *You did this.*

Man this is one of my staples …. Angel hair, a stick of blue bonnet butter, pepper and shaky cheese. 🤌

There is a little gadget called JarPop. Inexpensive, works in 2 seconds, no moving parts. Get you one.

tap the edge of the lid on the corner of the counter. But you should do it with pasta and extra virgin olive oil and a little salt.

As a kid I used to eat buttered noodles with lots of parm and I occasionally still do that for nostalgic reasons I guess lol.

It’s the pressure difference inside the jar just pulling the lid closed, afaik a lot of these products are packed and then cooked inside the packaging so the temperature difference really hooks them closed. Next time do the knife trick or hammer a really small carpentry trim nail through the lid to relieve the pressure, then it’s really easy to open. Though if the nail is too big or you hit it the wrong way then the glass could break and that would basically make the sauce unsafe for consumption

Toss some hot pepper and Parmesan in there. Baby you got a stew going!
