The four internal screw standoffs (is that the right term?) that connect the cap with touch controls to the body of the circulator all broke and now the cap is dangling off the device.. has anyone ever seen this before? I have not dropped or otherwise abused this device. It’s about 3 years old and was a gift so I don’t a have purchase receipt. But I feel like this should not happen.. has anyone had success approaching Anova support with similar issues? I’m just genuinely confused as to how this happened.. I did check with everyone in the household and nobody has touched it! Thanks in advance

It happened exactly the same to me!! I ended up gluing everything with super glue
This just happened to me as well. No dropping or anything. Pulled out of box it fell off.
They just kinda do that. Look back at the sub history, tons of people have this happen. Glue, tape, whatever you gotta do to grant it *nearly* headless condition and keep cookin! Mine did one day after only owning it for maybe 3 months. Taped it on and works fine, just ugly.
I used silicone to stick mine back together two days ago.
ain’t that some shit
Same issue happened to mine. Mine happened after cooking potatoes at 190. I’m not sure if higher temps are an issue for the plastic.
This is well known design flaw on that model. The part the screws attach to are made of super thin plastic. It WILL break eventually. But, you also should never need to take the top off. Just super glue it in place.
I superglued mine back together a few years ago. It has held up fine.
I placed mine in the top tray of the dishwasher to dry and came back to put it up and found the top popped off too. Hot glue at all 4 screw hole spots and it works fine. Can’t tell it ever happened. Common flaw. The have to know…
