This year was a four layer chocolate and red velvet with swiss meringue buttercream and chocolate ganache filling. Topped with more ganache and white chocolate dipped cookies! (Unfortunately I can't find pics of a few years…they were on old phones.) The first year I made cupcakes. Then I became more confident in my cake abilities!

You should start your own business! Gorgeous cakes
I’ve been doing this for my husband too! I like to try a new baking skill with every cake!
Picture number 4, can you share more details about that one?
What a thoughtful and romantic gesture! Your partner is going to love it.
omg these are so epic.
i’m an amateur home baker but have been baking all my life and i’m a pretty successful at it. family, friends, and neighbors adore my treats and cakes. i’ve even done some wedding cakes (rustic looking, not elaborate, but delish and cute)
i’ve been w my GF for 10 yrs now. we started dating about a week before her birthday and i had not one but two baking catastrophes happen with her birthday cupcakes.
i’ve always had like one or two catastrophes a year. before i met her, they’d be random.
now we know it’ll always be on her birthday.
here’s an incomplete list of problems i’ve had over the years:
– cupcakes over baked and the frosting somehow turned bad in the fridge, in the two days between making it and frosting.
– i forgot to put the sugar into the butter when making cookie dough and added it later with my fingers crossed. it was terrible texture. somehow both grainy and gooey.
– cheesecake that somehow came out very oily and gross.
– beesting cake (which i had successfully practiced) kinds fell out the bottom of itself and had to be eaten in bowls with spoons (but at least was delicious)
– key lime pie that never set and was goopy and slimy
This is so cute! What’s the one that looks like cinnamon rolls? The shape is so interesting!
Wow that’s gorgeous! Great job!
