My parents just celebrated 52 years of marriage— 52 years! I wanted to honor their journey with a special dessert that captured who they are both as individuals and as a couple.
A couple years ago, I created a two-in-one pastry for them, and revisited that concept here. Their favorite flavors couldn’t be more different (just like their personalities) but together, they create something whole that just works.
Their story began when my mom was a young nursing student and my dad had just immigrated from Honduras. He didn’t speak much English. She had never heard of Honduras. He knew right away she was the one. She, on the other hand, walked away from their first meeting thinking about work, not love. But my dad never gave up on her, and after four proposals, she finally said yes.
I wanted to capture a bit of that story in this heart-in-heart, tart-in-tart. The outer tart is for my dad — bold and bright, with pistachio frangipane, tangy lemon curd, and swirls of toasted Italian meringue. The center tart is my mom — sweet and full of warmth, with caramel mousse, a crispy layer, chocolate ganache, hazelnut sablé breton, and a silky chocolate crémeux.
Their love has never been about being the same. It’s about balancing each other, bringing out the best in one another, and standing side by side, even when things aren’t easy.

Amazing work! What a tribute to them!
Wow this is awesome
It’s amazing how you designed it so perfectly on the cake! Incredible work.
Wow this is beautiful! I could never eat it! 🥹🥰
I love this! So gorgeous and unique!
Absolutely gorgeous and it looks tasty! Can you tell me, is it cheesecake? What were the two flavours/types of dessert each preferred?
This is amazing
Oml, that is gorgeous! I wish I had that skill to decorate the cake like this for my parents’ anniversary! 😍
These are some of the most impressive pieces I’ve ever seen. You are supremely talented.
That’s incredible!! 🤩
I cannot get over how cool this is. The flavors and techniques here are amazing already, but the piping/decoration are absolutely next level. The hair is just… WOW!!! So creative and clever. How did you make the figures (especially the faces) of your parents? My guess is maybe cut out cookies with edible marker and royal icing? But it’s hard to tell. I would love to hear more about your process. The details are stunning. Happy anniversary to your folks!!!
This is outstanding work! Especially love the nurse because I’m one too! ❤️
I bet OP’s parents couldn’t eat it
Give your parents my best! Im only wish I could have had that many years with my spouse.
I love everything about this post! Nice job!!
This is a work of art! The way the top is layered gives it a very unique multi-dimensional feel, as if it’s a 3D art piece that should be displayed in an art gallery.
I know the story videos are usually saved for your dad’s birthday but I’d be absolutely lying if I said I wasn’t interested in the story behind this tart.
It’s beautiful, as always! 52 years is amazing, congrats to them!
You probably know — but you are insanely talented 😍
Spectacular! How artistic and unique!
Not me crying at your caption as I stare in awe at the ART you’ve created for them 🥹 your talent is beyond words, and your emotional creativity is transcendent and palpable in your work 🫶🏻🥰
Incredible work!
