BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Several groups around the community are hosting giveaway events to help relieve the financial burden of the holidays by distributing free Thanksgiving meal items.
Thursday, November 28St. Vincent De Paul will be holding their annual hot Thanksgiving Day meal at four locations on Thursday, November 28.A sit-down meal will be served between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at St. Vincent De Paul located at 220 St. Vincent De Paul Place.There will be sit-down meals at the Raising Cane’s River Center exhibition hall and a distribution of meals for people in cars between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. To participate in the sit-down meal, you will need to enter from River Road. For the drive through food distribution, you will need to enter from Government Street. Delpit Drive.There will be a meal pick-up at the St. Gerard Catholic Church Seelos Hall at 11 a.m. The hall is located at 5249 Maple Street. Meals will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.Free Community Meal: Iberville Christian Center is hosting a free Thanksgiving Day community meal on Thursday, Nov. 28. The event is happening from 10:30 a.m. until noon (while supplies last) at Sunshine Park, which is located at 2125 Ravier Lane in Sunshine. Community members are invited to enjoy a free, warm meal and connect with others in the community.
Iberville Christian Center is hosting a free Thanksgiving Day community meal on Thursday, Nov. 28.(Iberville Christian Center)Friday, November 29Feeding Event: The Montrell Jackson Foundation and sponsors are hosting the “Be a Blessing Black Friday Feeding Those in Need” event on Friday, Nov. 29. The event begins at noon at 1270 Laurel Street in Baton Rouge directly behind the Greyhound station.
