Looks underwhelming…sorry.

I went there a couple months ago and quite enjoyed it. There were a couple of misses, but it was a good experience overall. Not sure why your title is so open ended though, OP. Also the full tasting menu is $165. Why add $200 to the cost without context?

SUCKKKKKKED.
The total cost was $165, plus $45 for uni and truffle supplements, and 3 glasses of wine at about $20 each. Shame on me for getting the wine and supplements I guess, but even so, this was an aggressive waste of money.
* The portions were just too small, and I left pretty hungry. I understand that many fine dining meals (e.g. omakase) don’t exactly leave you stuffed, but for a simple comparison, I didn’t leave Atomix or Kato (in LA) hungry- in fact, I needed a break during those meals. In fact, I really think larger portions would have helped- for example, I think I would have appreciated the uni supplement to the abalone course more if I could dose bites of the uni throughout the course.
* The desserts were really underpar for a starred restaurant, I think.
* The wagyu course was borderline incompetent IMO. It was sliced very thinly like beef you’d use for hotpot or a stir fry, and I cannot understand why you’d serve wagyu in the same style of preparation as velveted beef from a Chinese takeaway. To make matters worse, I think they served MAYBE 2 ounces of beef. It just wasn’t enough.
On the bright side, the first three courses (amuse bouches) were really good. Duck toast was outstanding, and I think the kou shui ji prawn ceviche was a great idea.
Anyway, I’m gonna wolf down some pastries now because I’m still hungry.
Edit: I meant to include a body of text in my post, sorry for goofing that. Anyway, this meal sucked.
ouchwtfomg
looks like you prob got a chopped cheese at the corner bodega after which was much more satisfying

I took my wife to Yingtao for her birthday a few months ago and we both loved it

I went recently and loved the food and service. I am frequently disappointed by some of the other starred restaurants beloved by some on this subreddit (such as le Bernardin-three times and Le Coucou). I would agree the portions are not large, though.
