I've never made sushi, or anything similar in my life. I didn't know you could buy rice other than long grain. But man this is tasty!

  1. They look fantastic! Did you get a musubi mold or use the can? I’ve been thinking I need to just buy a mold.

  2. So as someone who’s lived their entire life in Hawaii I would say looks good but make the rice slightly thicker…. And did you cook the spam in soy sauce and sugar combination? And a little furikake on the rice before spam wouldn’t hurt.

Looks great! I wonder how good scrapple would
    Work as musubi?

Your rice and the sear on that Spam both look perfect. Would eat all of these.

  5. Looks great. I’m hungry. Want to make some now but too late & lazy

    Cool!

I’m making it for the first time this weekend too.

    Looks pretty good!

Confirmed. OP is a dirty liar and has been living in Hawaii for decades working as a chef de cuisine at the local musubi joint.

  8. Looks great to me! I love keeping this at home its a nice quick little dinner. I usually get those teriyaki seaweed snacks and sandwich the rice and meat between two of those, I also like to add yum yum sauce, sesame seeds and a little rice vinegar to the rice
