Heyyyy man! Like… What's happenin? This was a far out review! OK. I'm old enough to remember the 1960's. The hippie cliche' at Mellow Mushroom was misused and abused at the one which used to exist in Herndon, VA. I tried it once. And, I was left very unimpressed. From the crust on up, your pizza was much better than the one I had. The "thin crust" pizza I had was more like a soggy pizza cake soaked in a flavorless red sauce. I say "red" because there was hardly any tomato taste to it. My toppings were my usual "go to": Ground beef, mushrooms, and onions. And, were definitely not fresh. Perhaps that's why Herndon's "Mello Mushroom" went the way of a hairdresser. Namely, it curled-up and died. The space on the ground floor of an office building on Elden Street which was once the Mellow Mushroom remained vacant for several years. Just as I was making my departure from the town that is to Virginia what Battle Mountain is to Nevada, the former Mellow Mushroom, was being slowly transformed into yet another Indian restaurant when I most recently drove thru Virginia's formerly one-horse town. (Before the horse escaped its chains! and was never seen again!) Given that before Mellow Mushroom came along, that storefront was previously occupied by another failed restaurant, Fuddruckers, "Third time's the charm" might be the best hope that Indian restaurant may have! Now, about your review… What you had was worlds away better than what I had in Herndon! When I went to PF in 2023, I was almost tempted to try the Mellow Mushroom there. But, the memory was so very, very bad! I now kinda wish I'd tried it! Another excellent review! God Bless and Peace…!

Haven't had it in a while but Mellow Mushroom has got some good food! I will say that Carly and I are in agreement about having the cheese bread as a meal and not having pizza it's that good and I'm not surprised at the look on her face when she first ate one in fact Mellow Mushroom has the best cheese bread as far as I'm concerned! The pizza is delicious too but the cheese bread alone is what makes coming here worth it! And the sauce is so awesome that I confess that one of my guilty pleasures is eating the left over sauce when and if there is any left! Thank you for sharing my friends and y'all rock as always!
This place looks fantastic, that cheesy bread had my mouth watering, and the pizza was huge with lots of toppings and the cheese pull for a pizza was unreal. The look on Carly's face when she bit into the cheesy bread was priceless lol. I was so impressed with mellow mushroom that I checked to see if any were around us. Unfortunately the closest ones were in Ohio. A friend of mine has a pizza shop near me and it's pretty good, but I must admit this is on a different level. Maybe this time next year the Steelers and Commanders will be playing for the Vince Lombardi trophy, that would be cool 😎. We had one is Sanford fl. It was good but the prices were ridiculous. Before the prices were bad. They charged me for crouton. I had tomatoes onion and bacon on my pizza . 6 wings . Split a salad with my husband . I drank water. It cost 55$ plus. I hope you enjoy. I’m on a fixed income. This is not in my budget. ✌️
We have had a Mellow Mushroom Pizza here for probably 15 years or more but we've never been to eat at it for some reason. I believe we have a reason now!

We love Mellow Mushroom. I'm (Lori) not that big on pizza but theirs is really, really good. I love how they also theme their restaurants to the geographical location. Ours is in an old Victorian style house. It's gorgeous! Also, I don't know if y'all like mushrooms, but their mushroom soup is to die for!! We usually get it to dunk our crusts in. Great video!

I have alot of food allgeries and they always accommodate to them. I really love the vegan cheese that they use. Some people say they are high in price but you get what you pay for.

We had a Mellow Mushroom in Rockwall, TX (far east suburb of DFW). We absolutely loved it. But their menu was far too 'foreign' for the average Joe crowd to understand and they closed it. IMO, all they had to do was include a more 'normal' insert in their menu that the locals could 'digest' better (like basic pizza combinations). I also suggested they pass some of their phenomenal specialty combinations as test bites to customers there so they could get a taste for it. Finally, the other demise of our location was they had way too little parking for the large footprint of the building/seating capacity, so many times you'd have to walk from two restaurants over to get a parking spot – only to get inside and it wasn't even near 1/4 full. If you've never been to a Mellow Mushroom, you gotta go if you're a pizza lover. We miss ours, but it was the wrong crowd for their concept at the time. Their Happy Hour was also spectacular.

That bread looked amazing, and so did the pizza. Like you, I was really impressed with the bacon on it. Not just bacon bits, but real pieces of bacon.

The names of the items have lots of references to pot, so I don't know that I'd spend money at this place, but the food does look good!
