I took a trip to see the Rockies for the first time and spread his Ashes around a few beautiful places.
And yes, that is a Mayo Jar: Dukes Mayo to be exact (southerners will understand). He joked that when his time came he wanted his remains kept in a Dukes jar- so I asked my step mom for some ashes from his real Urn, and lugged Dad around in a Dukes jar.
We can call it "South Carolina" Aioli if that makes any of you Savages more comfortable.

Did you make it to Garden of the Gods?
My condolences, kind stranger.
I can’t speak for your pops, but I can say that this would make me an extremely proud dad; and for that I salute you.
i’m sorry for your loss. it sounds like a healing journey, and your dad’s spirit lives on through your pluck and sense of humor. i’m certain he’s proud of you.
Condolences, it looks like a beautiful place where you brought him!
I’ve never seen a finer urn. Next closest is a Ralph’s coffee can. Hope you can enjoy one more trip with your dad. His sense of humor tells me he was a cool guy.
I wish you well with your grieving process!
My dad loved hiking the White Mountains and wanted to be spread on Mt. Moosilauke. Wasn’t snowy like this, but it was quite the rainy day when I was able to make the hike and spread his ashes. Hope you enjoyed your time and took some solace in the beauty.
This is a really lovely story.
However, for half a minute, I fully thought you’d lost your dad’s ashes in a snowstorm and had just found them again!
Noticed the Duke’s jar right away. What a lovely way to honor your Dad
Bro loved his mayonnaise 🙏
Dukes is cracking me up, I love that. I’m so sorry for your loss but love that you can have some joy and humor in his memory ❤️
Sorry for your loss. The Duke’s made me laugh and smile. I moved to the PNW last year and was so excited when I found Duke’s mayo up here.
Spread my Dads on top of a waterfall. Wind kicked him right back in my eyes nose and mouth, he always had a wild sense of humor lol. Congratulations on a successful trip and some final bonding with your father, may he rest in peace.
I saw the photo and the title and thought “oh my god, that’s the most southern thing in the world”. Then i thought “there’s no way this is what i think it is.” Then it was exactly what i thought it was. Sorry for your loss. Your dad sounds like he had a great sense of humor.
