I asked my husband to cancel the Valentine’s steakhouse reservation because I wasn’t in the mood to explain that I have celiac to a waiter, so could he check with the chef as to what is gluten-free. (Even high end steakhouses sometimes use wheat flour to crisp up skins on baked potatoes. Too many places have wheat in their marinades and steak seasonings because it’s a cheap filler.)

We have a steakhouse dinner at home.

(Plus I didn’t want to put the meat I had finishing in the sous vide in the refrigerator just to turn around and spend money to go to dinner.)

    ## Homemade Valentine’s Day gluten-free menu:

    – Butter lettuce salad with lemon and balsamic
    – French onion soup
    – Beef & pork paccheri rigati pasta
    – Creamed spinach
    – 24-hour sous vide beef rump roast
    – Chocolate cherry fudge
    – Red wine (not homemade, obviously.)

That looks amazing. Would much rather have that than an overpriced steakhouse

I would’ve picked that over a steakhouse too. Well done! Looks amazing!
