I know it’s not raw but I wanted some other people to back me up.

  1. When you make a steak for another person, it’s not about how YOU like it, it’s about how they like it. If someone not liking their steak as rare as you do ruins your night, I feel bad for you. Not everyone likes rare steak.

You need to make their steak how THEY like it that being said I can come over to eat this

  3. psychadeltron

It’s perfect for habitual steak eaters and I would even say is the best way for anyone to have this cut. Also a nice sear. But if they want it tough and chewy that’s really up to them. Only time I don’t listen to the ones that like it more done is when I make it for a group and will not compensate for 1 person.

  4. Strong-Performer-230

To be honest it doesn’t look great. Some people are very specific with their steak preferences. It’s always a shit show at our 12 guy golf weekend when the steaks come out.

  5. Presence_Academic

Keep in mind that IRL, “raw” means “not cooked enough for my taste”.

  6. ShawnSimoes

Lesson learned. You don’t cook a steak for a girl without having the conversation. And if she says she likes it medium well or worse you just don’t cook her a steak ever.

  7. KatieROTS

The fat isn’t rendered out. I wouldn’t want it either.

  8. herringsarered

Next time ask them how they like their steak, because if this way physically disgusts them and they have to eat it, it’s their dinner which is ruined.

I’d eat this without blinking, but then again, that’s how I prefer it.

  9. Odd-Scientist-2529

You see that white gristle on the 4 slices in the middle, with the fat cap that isn’t rendered out? That isn’t good to a lot of people.

also the second slice from the bottom – the one we can see the entire cross section of – the shredded up part right in the middle is probably completely raw (which is why it shredded and didnt slice well) and there is fat that needs to be rendered on both ends of that slice.

Sidling up and putting my head on your shoulder “.. I can be a friend to you…”

    Unless you’re married…nah…!!

    Plate o’ perfection

  11. grindingaway69

If they ask for a medium and you gave them this, you cooked their steak incorrectly

  12. Crumby_Bread

Fat isn’t rendered, meat is shredded on one of the cuts meaning it’s probably raw, otherwise it would have been a clean cut.

But more importantly, when you’re cooking someone a steak – ask them how THEY want it cooked.

    Good sear tho.

  13. NTufnel11

Ruining the evening over this seems pretty dramatic. Did you ask them how they liked their steak? That’s a pretty important step in making steak for someone.

  14. AnAmbitiousMann

You made a critical hospitality error when serving someone else. You ask for their preferences, yours has no relevance in that.

    Would smash those steaks tho

  15. Tresavage1

What do yall mean when you say the fat isn’t rendered out

  16. Pretend_Jaguar5370

It’s fine but you are cooking for THEM, cook it how they like it.

  17. meintexas1973

This is a solid medium rare. Maybe just a bit to the rare side. I like my beef medium rare and this looks completely edible.

  18. Experimentallyintoit

Maybe ask them how they like their steak cooked next time, rather than assuming they like it the same way you do?

  19. East-Aardvark-2061

Last time I checked you asked people how they liked their steak cooked not , you’ll eat it and like it or I’ll get my feels hurt

  20. It’s not raw but if they don’t like red then that’s just how some ppl perceive it. I used to be that way until I switched sides now I wouldn’t touch anything well done.

  21. Alarmed-Put-8301

I always ask how guests like his/her steak prepared, makes for a better evening

  22. CranberryOk4103

I would eat the shit out of that steak. Perfectly cooked if you ask me!

  23. MushroomOk3810

Thats medium rare. Most people like order medium rare to sound sophisticated and make people think they are a foodie. If someone wants it cooked more than this they are trash and you should probably not waste any time on them

  24. Sensitive-Reality-73

My girlfriend will order a filet and tell them the butterfly it and cook it well done.

  25. West-Specialist787

I hope they’re not a “well done” type of person. Steak looks nice.

  26. crappydeli

I always order medium rare. So even if they fuck up the cook, it isn’t terrible.

  27. wastedpixls

That would be a ‘blue’ order at a steakhouse. So unless that’s what they wanted, you missed the mark.

  28. Numerous_Brief

You can just pass it over to me my son…..😂😂😂🤪

  29. PlatypusEgo

Yikes, you sound like a self-righteous drama queen.
