In this video, I’m walking you through the process of creating infused oils and turning them into a simple and versatile Boo Boo Balm. We’ll start by straining those oils and mixing them to create a base that works for everything from soothing minor skin irritations to everyday moisturizing. I’ll share my go-to recipe for a balm that’s perfect for all-purpose healing—and I promise, it’s easier than you think!
Along the way, I’ll dive into some of the benefits of the key ingredients we’re using. Oregano oil isn’t just for your kitchen; it’s loaded with antibacterial and antifungal properties that make it a powerhouse for skin care. Plantain oil, on the other hand, is like nature’s band-aid, helping to calm inflammation and speed up healing. And then there’s calendula oil, my personal favorite for its gentle, soothing properties that are perfect for sensitive skin.
Whether you’re looking to stock your first-aid kit with something homemade or just want to learn more about the magic of herbal oils, this video is packed with practical tips and insights to get you started. Stick around until the end to see how I put it all together, and let me know how you use your oils in the comments!

  1. Is bees wax antifungal and antibacterial like the honey? If so, you could just make a balm or salve with bees wax instead of oil.

  2. I just got over walking pneumonia. I sure wish I would I have seen this earlier. Even though I was doing mullein man it hit me hard. But I think it could have been worse with out the mullein. Thank u for sharing

  3. Great video! God gave us everything we need if we just take time to learn how to use it! My mom always mercurochrome? Bright orange! 😂

  4. Never put things inside the ear canal. If your ears are that bad, go see a Dr. first. Love the idea of putting the salves in a lip balm dispenser. The Nerdy Farm Wife has some good recipes.

  5. You mentioned that oregano oil is a different thing than oil of oregano and you were not talking about it. Ok, I was with you on that. But then you went on to use the term oregano oil several times when I am sure you meant oil of oregano. It would have been nice if you would have edited to add the correct term on the screen. It’s easy to get confused when you’re a beginner in the world of natural treatments.

  7. Thank you for doing this video, I will definitely be doing this one next year. I did a jewelweed salve since I had a huge patch show up in my garden this year. I took it as a sign to make the salve, I'm always getting poison ivy and it is better to be prepared.

  8. Hi Rachel, I like to use almond oil because it has a longer shelf life. Also, adding a few drops (maybe more?) of vitamin E oil to your final oil will prevent it from going rancid.

  9. My brother was paying 500 to kill his weeds, lucky for him they did a horrible job. I came over and he'd been at the hospital with a swollen red hand, he showed me and I saw the spider bite and his wrist was turning red, the pharmacy was closed so he couldn't get his antibiotics… I went in the front yard to get plantain, crushed it and put it on his extremely swollen hand and bandaged it, next morning it was completely gone no medicine needed! Mother earth gives us everything we need ❤😊😊

  10. Research Methods should be a mandatory high school class. I had it in college and it has helped me in researching and how to critically read papers.

  11. I grow a ton of oregano. I'm going to make these little lip balm tubes with oil of oregano for my horse's bobos! He's always scraping his skin on anything!

  12. Love your videos. Hope you & Todd are well. I'm wondering if you can recommend a home apothecary book. There are so many. My daughter's expecting her 1st baby & I would like to get her a book on home remedies etc. I want one for myself as well since I grow so many medicinal herbs, flowers etc. that I would like to know how to use. Thank you for all of the informative & entertaining videos you provide. Bye & Merry Christmas from Sequim WA!!

  13. Just a reminder from my mistake. Do not leave the salve or Chapsticks made with these ingredients in your purse in hot weather. They melt in your purse and it is a mess. 😊😊

  14. I grew up in a bag balm household. I still use it. I made some salve a couple of years ago. I put it in a bowl and used my hand mixer as it cooled and it was like whipped butter. I gave away as gifts.
