What did you like about it? How would you compare it to other Korean fried chicken you’ve had?

  2. nahnah515

Disagree— everything was fine, but would not recommend. Just one of those overhyped insta famous places

  3. lazyprogrammer7

sorry for being that person on the internet but *coqodaq

  4. OjamaBinLadin

How do you get reservations? It always seem to be unavailable

  5. I grew up with fried chicken American, southern, Asian (Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean) and by far Coqodao has some of the best chicken and selection of side dishes but I think a big problem would be the price for the quantity. As much as the quality is superb I went with a group to have a tasting. Though afterwards I went to grab something to fill up with because sharing we did get a taste of majority of the menu but wasn’t filling.

I would recommend going with a larger party or a group of people that are looking to try the different items and enjoying it all together.

  6. Wait… how did you find out about this place?

Was it the 100 other Reddit posts?
Was it the PR campaign posted over all major news outlets?
Was it the 1,000 influencers that have been paid to go?

Seems crazy you found it! Looks good

    Amazing atmosphere insanely average chicken

  8. Went there last week. Good food. Beautiful inside. But damn, the prices are INSANE.

lol this place spilled food on my head and didn’t even take anything off the bill. Hard pass.

I’ve been here and it’s overrated. Over hyped!

I think it’s overpriced and overhyped.

I had been wanting to go for ages, finally went over the Christmas break. Found it to be good/okay chicken but far from the best in terms of Korean fried chicken and for a cost that was way too high for what it was. Ambience and service was great, sauces were exceptional and the cocktails were above average.

Can you just get the chicken and that’s it?

This place makes me angry for a reason. $108 for fucking fried chicken? I am korean and as a kid, we used to go to markets and get whole fried chicken for like $5. This was still when korea was up and coming after the olympics. In the us south, im sure fried chicken was food for the masses-something cheap to feed the whole family.

The trend of upscaling food intended for everyone and putting on a fucking $100 per course price on it is what’s wrong with food in the city today. Give me a good double fried chicken with a good sauce. Include the fucking radish without an upcharge. Keep the caviar and gold bullshit. I will buy alot of beer to help your margin. I just want an honest restaurant that serves good food and i will keep coming back so you can make money.

So many gimmicks and places charging up the ass because it markets well and is “popular”. Nothing wrong with that, but thats not the food i want in the city and i will not be supporting. I’ve noticed this with korean food lately. Like my mom’s shit is better than the gimmicky stuff. Why wtf would i want to eat there? To say i got in the hottest place in town? Gtfo

    Rant over

The most preposterous experience I’ve ever had, cannot believe it exists

  16. Ambience and service are great. Food is meh. All hype imo

  17. They sell the chicken nuggets at undercote, the bar…under cote. A nice little lounge and a much better way to get some nugs than coqodaq. We went to the bar before the coqodaq dinner and came out happy with the meal, but wishing we got nugs with cocktails before going somewhere less kitschy

  18. SodaOnly2025

Absolutely dog shit place for fried chicken. Are you new to eating and to the city?

  19. lanikween

Yea the lack of spicy is criminal. Excellent vibes at the spot tho.

    I’ve never recommended it tho.

Does anyone know a place that gets as spicy as Bon Chon?

  20. NotYourAverageRyan

Im gluten free and I was so appreciative and enamored by this place!

  21. Food is ok at best, but the venue is abysmal. They tried to fit as many tables as possible and unless you like eating chicken at a nightclub I wouldn’t recommend it. Cote is the same way, unfortunately.

  22. I really liked it when I went. Yes a $20 roe creme fraiche nugget is silly, but it’s also pretty delicious.

  23. This must be the first Highly Recommended comment I’ve seen about the place.

  24. mtempissmith

Is Korean Fried Chicken usually spicy? I’ve seen some places and wondered about the heat level. I like spicy stuff but my stomach doesn’t, can’t handle it.

  25. Fickle-Pin-1679

Love the place everytime I go. Expensive yes, but hey it’s a trendy place in NYC. Love the Champagnes.

  26. just_a_dumb_dumb

it’s not good even if you ignore price
