A local gas station was going out of business
All of the wine and spirits were 50% off. Most of it is junk as you’d imagine.
I was going to walk out empty-handed when the shop owner said he had some more stuff in the basement I could look at. Among a bunch of cheap bottles… Boxes of yellowtail, Barefoot, etc. There was one random shelf of good quality French wine.
At the very end I found three of these 2012 Château La Mission Haut-Brion La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion!! Totally shocked!
Shop owner didn’t know where they came from. 🧐
I ended up buying a case of good Chinon for $85 and purchased all three of the La Mission for $40 a pop.
I see people on here strike gold all the time and I’m always so jealous but very happy for my fellow wine lovers. This kind of stuff never happens to me. Lucky day I guess!

Before people ask for tasting notes, I will be opening one soon for a celebration coming up and report then in my usual review style.
