Hi, we just purchased some bananas and we left them in the back of the truck on the way back home, are these bad?

Damn. They definitely look bad. How long did you leave them there? I would honestly taste one of them before throwing them away,

was it cold ? they might not ripen properly but they’ll be fine to eat

Just put them in the freezer and use for smoothies

Best way to check is the open 1 and see how it looks taste and smells

  5. Even if bananas go bad, freeze them and save them to make banana bread

If they get too cold the skin will oxidize. You could freeze them for smoothies. They’re fine to eat, but if they weren’t ripe before they froze then unfortunately they won’t ripen further and the texture might be weird.

Ooof, looks like they skipped the yellow phase and went straight for brown 😕

They look like they have been frozen and thawed

    Are those bananas or plantains?

ETA: I was being polite, but now I think maybe direct is better. Those aren’t bananas, and they haven’t gone bad. Those are plantains.

They bruise when hit, but has no effect on the flavor, some parts might be mushier.

Can buy some green hard avocados, and place them next to those bananas.

Avocados give off gases that makes bananas ripen faster than the rate that it goes bad.

Depends what you were planning on using them for

The blacker the banana the sweeter the juice.

This happens if you refrigerate bananas. They’re not bad as such but might not ripen the way you want.

Put them in a paper bag for half a day and check on them. Might only work in banana bread or smoothies.

Nah they just got cold and went dark. They’re fine and should last just as long as normal.

Not if they are unripe red bananas if they are regular bananas then fire who ever put them in your cart.🩍

They are far away from bad. They aren’t ripe(?) yet.
First they r green, then yellow, brown
black.. after that I didn’t do the science yet đŸ˜‚âœŒïž

They are just misunderstood. Have you tried gently asking them if they are feeling like they might identify as banana bread?

  19. KitchenUpper5513

They probably won’t taste good as they are, but they’re probably fine for baking. As long as they aren’t slimy

  20. They are black on the outside from cold but still not ripe. Not dangerous. Let them sit and ripen. Top part will probably be fine. If not, you just have half a banana.

  21. RashPatch

You put this on the fridge and wait for a few days. Prepare to make some banana bread baby!

  22. Aconvolutedtube

These got too cold and will most likely not recover enough to fully ripen unfortunately

  23. Beautiful-Elk-7852

Ah, they may just take a little longer to ripen. Worse comes to shove, maybe save them to make banana bread?

    Now you’ve got me craving…
