Got my order in yesterday late afternoon, yes I was tempted to have a cup at 8pm but I fought the urge. 🤣
I know, I know, “Only 5 sleeves theme rookie numbers son!” In my defense I still had probably 2-3 sleeves left from my last order. Plus I refill as well (check my last couple posts), just got done filling a bunch of pods and have to order another bag of beans soon. Never a shortage of coffee in this house that’s for sure.
Short Oatly first impressions review:
I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of this pod as a latte. Sadly I did not try it plain at all before mixing my morning iced deliciousness. From what I could tell/taste though the pod complimented the creamer sooo well and I can tell that it would taste best with Oatmilk as directed by Oatly soo adamantly on the sleeve packaging. This was also my first time trying the Planet Oat Brown Sugar Cookie Oatmilk Creamer and it is phenomenal. Has all the taste profile of a brown butter/ brown sugar, sugar cookie with that lovely baked goods flavor that oat milk also adds. I would probably do less cream next time or made it a Quad shot and brewed two of them as it was a bit sweeter than I would normally drink it. I will definitely be keeping both the Oatly as long as it’s available and the Planet Oat Brown Sugar Cookie in my regular rotation.
I prepared mine as an Iced brown sugar Oatmilk shaken espresso. 😋
- Ice filled glass 4-5 cubes
- 1 small pump of Monin Spiced Brown Sugar Syrup
- Frothed 1/4-1/2 cup Planet Oat Brown Sugar Cookie Creamer (👍x3)
- 1 Vertuo Oatly pod
- Small pinch (dust) dark brown sugar on top
Prepare “Oatly” pod over ice, syrup, 1/2 frothed creamer.
Cover and shake lightly.
Froth and add remaining creamer.
Top with small pinch of Dark Brown Sugar and swirl lightly.
Drink and Enjoy 😊

I got Rich Chocolate and Golden Caramel again as my free samples🤮. So I reached out to Nespresso chat to ask if there was anything they might be willing to do. I won’t drink/use them and would love to try something I haven’t had and may actually purchase in the future. They were extremely helpful and let me know that they unfortunately couldn’t send me a replacement but they noted my account to not send those two again and gave me a $5 credit to my account for a future purchase. That’s awesome and makes me feel good about joining the Nespresso ecosystem.
I’m not sure if you’ve had the Chobani cinnamon coffee cake but it is 10x more flavorful than this brown sugar cookie could be.
I bought 2 of the brown sugar creamer expecting it to be full of flavor like “shaken brown sugar espresso” and was extremely underwhelmed.
The flavor profile is a bland 4 out of 10 if that. Nothing that special about this creamer compared to their other flavors / chobani flavors!
Agh. Oatly is my fave and I only drink non dairy – that said, I just got a shipment of pods like a week ago 🤣 I hate that there’s a minimum order amount.
I like the oatly pod too but had it with soy milk. Thought it was a great combo! I’m curious about the new Kona now.
