I personally find the Aldi brand of these so gross, they taste like onion skins and starch/flour. I bought them hoping for a mindless snack, I will eat handfuls of the name brand ones, and I wouldn’t even cook with these:/

I love these, they’re my unhealthy snack while I’m cooking

Aldi/Lidl brands are pure junk. I gave them a chance. Time after time. But nope, it was a let down every time.

Before I had to cut out gluten in ’22 I ate these as a snack all the time. They’re not great, & they often had the onion skins in them, sometimes roots too.
They’re nowhere near as good as French’s, & need a lot of salt to take them above being barely palatable.
I ate them because they were less than half the price of French’s, & just tolerable enough to put up with to scratch the itch for fried onion snacking. I never cooked with them, I shelled out for the good ones for casseroles.
