Have to ask for this menu in advance

Venue – polite staff, we were the first ones in and for most of the sitting there was only one other table but towards the end got busier. Comfy relaxed sitting with a soft carpet across the whole room.

    Kir Royale cocktail

    Mushroom consomme

Canapes – all pleasant, the smoked fish doughnut was the standout

Bread and butter – standout butter with espelette pepper and hot fresh bread

Onion soup with iberico and fumaison cheese – very nice and pretty, bit tricky to eat

Vol-au-vent – lobster, sweetbreads, chicken thighs in a rich sauce, very filling

Dessert – eucalyptus and yoghurt sorbet with fruit – another standout, cuts through the fat heavy courses before it

Mignardise –  pistachio one was complex with sweet/sour/bitter and multiple textures; sweets were chocolate and whiskey also very nice

Take-home Canele – another standout! crispy outside with soft inside

    £95/person is a steal!
