I went out for a day of shopping and came across a Korean convenience store.
I bought some kimchi that’s imported from Korea. But when I opened it when I got home it had white specks on 3 pieces?
I’m 90 procent sure it’s mold.
Do I throw it away?
Going back isn’t a option since it’s a 2 hour train ride

I would toss it personally. Definitely mold
It looks like yeast and not mold. Mold will be fuzzy.
[Google if you wanna fact check](https://www.google.com/search?q=white+growth+on+kimchi&oq=white+growth+on+kim&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgAEAAYgAQyBggBEEUYOTINCAIQABiGAxiABBiKBTINCAMQABiGAxiABBiKBTIKCAQQABiiBBiJBTIKCAUQABiABBiiBDIHCAYQIRiPAjIHCAcQIRiPAtIBCDU4MTRqMGo0qAIOsAIB8QWv4czt44-R-w&client=ms-android-samsung-ss&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8)
It’s non toxic yeast called gomaji. Since this is sukbakji I would just rinse it or scrape it off. Unlike napa which is thin, the mu will solid enough for you to scrape off.
If not you can also wash that piece off.
the way i wouldn’t have even noticed ..
It’s yeast, had it happen to my radish kimchi, worst it does is make it taste a little funny.
Wash it. Unlike wanna be Koreans here, no Korean would actually eat that. They invented Kimchi fridges for this sole reason.
