Made a couple of steaks for dinner last night, and when I pulled the machine out of the water bath the top just… popped off. It looks like the plastic bits holding the screws in place all broke (which is weird, bc I’ve never dropped it or anything!). The wiring still looks fine; do you think I could just super glue the edges back in place, or should I plan on buying a new machine entirely? Pics of last nights dinner also attached, for tax lol

Had the same situation with mine. I just superglued it back on and it has worked fine ever since. This happened over 2 years ago

Definitely contact Anova about it and do whatever they suggest. Gluing plastic is always problematic, especially something that’s in a heated and moist environment. Plus, Anova’s QA department (if it exists) will want to know about the failure.

I’ve seen this happen a number of times with recent Anovas. Like others have said, some superglue will keep it going.

  4. Superglue will weld the plastic, which is good in this case. Even bead on both sides. Put it back together. Let it sit for a day motionless. It’ll be better than new as it will be sealed on that seam.

If it’s working, it’s fixable. If it’s not working, then don’t know how to fix solid state circuits. Prolly want silicone seal. Keep water out.
