Turkish Basbousa with Cream filling (Eggless)
It’s a semolina-coconut moist cake quite known & popular in middle-east. It’s drenched with sugar syrup & decorated with nuts.
Usually the filling used is yoghurt, but I like to use cream or custard as a filling.
This is a delightful dessert for all Eggless lovers..
Ingredients
Semolina/Suji(superfine) – 1cup
Dessicated coconut – 1/4 Cup
Sugar – 3/4 cup
Oil – 3/4 Cup
Baking powder – 1tbsp
Fresh cream – 1 Cup
Vanilla essence – 1tsp
Sugar Syrup
Sugar – 1cup
Water – 1cup
Lemon juice – 1tsp
Cream Filling
Milk – 2 Cups
Cornflour – 4tbsp
Sugar – 4tbsp
Fresh cream – 1 Cup
Few drops Orange blossom water or Rose water.
Garnish with Chopped unsalted pistachios and Dried rose petals
