I love a soft and moist cornbread that is slightly sweet. This one is naturally sweetened with honey and a homemade buttermilk for a really moist texture! We love to serve this with our classic beef chili or a hearty winter stew. Enjoy π

You can cook for me β€
What a perfect follow-up to your chili video! There is a bbq joint here in Central NY called The Dinosaur Barbecue. I highly recommend. They serve a honey cornbread as a side and it is delicious. The cookbook by the same name, published by the founder, even contains the recipe, which I've made dozens of times. I'm going to try your version, which looks amazing. I bring up the Dinosaur because every time I go, I order the honey cornbread and their chili as sides. As you mentioned, these two items are a match made in heaven. Love the channel, Bethany! And Drew!
During Hay season, My Grandmother used bring us for lunch Honey Cornbread, Pinto Beans and raw Vidalia onions !!! "Best…Food…Memory…EVER !!!"
Thank you for the cornbread recipe and you're right there is so many variations of it you can't go wrong with one or the other. That was funny you mentioning the chili π€£ I think people should make it the way they want. Like all recipes just adapt them to your liking.
I really enjoy this channel-Dave in Ontario
Love it and your channel. Have struggled many times with this! Admittedly get frustrated and lose patience with certain baking chores. This is one for sure. My Son loved bbq ribs and brisket. Marinate and grill is easy. Veggies easy. Cornbread was always my Waterloo. A few were edible, but nothing like this, thank you and God bless you, yours and all fans. Ciao.
no,no, no. Cornbread has to be repeat has to be baked in a cast iron skillet. Try it again.

Haha I enjoyed your chili comment. In Canada π¨π¦ we sometimes make our chili πΆ with Moosemeat so take that Texas πβ€
Frying fish and chicken soaked in buttermilk is the bomb Stepf!
Forgive me if I forgotten, have you added either creamed corn or some canned corn to the mix?
I grew up in Mississippi on plain old southern cornbread. I really want to give this recipe a try.
Hard to listen to that voice – drops down to a low raspy volume – isn't that a southern CA teenager thing?
I made your chilli and grew up on the east coast, always had beans in my chilli, so that's the way I make it. Couldn't imagine it without beans.
Definitely not Southern style but looks great. Btw in the South we grease the dish with butter or bacon grease ( and not so sweet)
Cream corn, corn kernels, diced green chilis, (lose the buttermilk) half/half. Had to your mix and voila: Perfection. Yours looks pretty darn good, Simple.
Why no microwave?
God youre sexy!!! Would you consider doing a lingerie haul? π
I add 1/2 tps of vanilla
Soooo excited to make it.π
Perfect , the cornbread doesnt look bad either.

I make my chili with brown beans , black beans , and kidney beans . Ground beef, onions, chili powder, chili seeds, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt, black pepper, green pepper. π
My late Nonna Costa always said, βWhen your heart hurts, make cornbread!β Okay, she never said that. But Iβm making thisβ¦and eating it all in one sittingβ¦slathered in butter and honey. And then maybe, if the mood hits me, Iβll do it all over again the next day!!! π
Iβd like a nice glass of milk with that.
you lost me with vinegar! No self respecting Southerner would use Vinager!
So you don't need to really mix the batter like with a mixer, right? Just stir it up like you did on the video?
