Lurked a long time as burgers are my fave food. Almost always a traditional cheeseburger. But boneless skinless chicken breast was bogo, so hubs and I used our meat grinding attachment for the kitchenaid and ground up all the chicken. Always looking for ways to change things up in the kitchen. And voila! Homemade pan fried chicken burgers. Did NOT use breadcrumbs and egg as lots of recipes call for. Just ground chicken and seasonings. They came out WAYYY better than I expected. And even reheat really well. What do you guys think?

  1. Soooo, this is the first time I accept the term “chicken burger” and have it be accurate for this sub.

These are in fact burgers. Burger refers to the way the protein is prepared. If it’s ground, it’s a burger. If not, it’s a sandwich.

Chicken burgers are the shit! If you do them right they can taste kinda like Chick-fil-A.

This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone post a “chicken burger” that is actually a burger. I’m not a big fan of ground chicken, so this may not be for me (although…I’d try it, maybe I’m wrong) but either way nice job! The cook looks good!

Chicken? Burgers are supposed to be made out of HAM!

  6. Ground chicken is common at Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to. I would give your burger a try, it looks tasty.

So what constitutes a “burger” here?
Wouldn’t this be a “chicken sandwich”, which clearly breaks this sub’s rules?

Is a “burger” simply a piece of beef between two pieces of bread or does it have to be a certain kind of meat and a certain kind of bread or a bun?

And what about a lettuce wrap?
And is a patty melt on sliced rye bread a burger?
How about a veggie patty on a bun? Is that a “burger”?
And if it’s just meat between bread… isn’t that just a sandwich?

    So confusing.
Looking for a little clarification on the definition of a “burger” here.
    Thanks.

Definition of a “burger” according to ME:
Ground beef, formed into a patty, on a hamburger bun.
Not chicken, not lamb, not tofu, not fucking vegan or poultry…. fucking goddam BEEF. GROUND JUICY BEEF.

Ground juicy beef on a hamburger bun. Not on rye bread and not in a gay lettuce wrap.
    On a fucking hamburger bun.

This monstrosity pictured above is not a goddam burger.
    It’s a fucking chicken sandwich.
