I bought my Vertuo Pop machine for approximately the same amount of money 3 years ago. Nespresso is making money on the pods so sometimes they can afford to lose a bit more on the hardware I guess.

I got all my machines from goodwill for less than $20

They make money on pods (especially with Vertuo, that is proprietary tech).
I got all my machines for free so far by making a “machine subscription”, meaning I pay something like 50 EUR for 12 months and I get the money back as credit for coffee (and a free machine).
But this varies with every region.

They make money on the pods, so they keep the price for the machine as low as they can.

The web site of Nespresso Poland says **zł599.00 or about USD155.** But ordering in the U.S. you have to add sales tax, and VAT is already in the Poland price. So they’re pretty much in line.
Search engine Shopping prices can be all over the place and may not reflect reality. For instance, Bing tells me I can buy a Plus from Walmart for USD15. (Don’t bother. I already looked.) But the Media Expert site agrees that it’s PLN229. So, it may be a promotion of some kind. The discount is only that deep on that one machine.

They make money on the pods. I got my Next for only 40€ brand new in 2021 from an official reseller.

because the standard of living in Poland is different from that in the Netherlands. For example: the rent of an apartment is about 50 euro per month, but they earn less money per month. If you live near the border of Poland, you are a lucky person…
Simple-Expert8619
They purposely do that so you can only buy their coffee pods.

I got Nespresso pop + aeroccino 3 + 25$CAD coupon for 99$CAD this year. Nespresso isn’t here to make money with the machine. They want you to keep buying their expensive capsules so they are okay with selling these machines for “cheap”

I literally bought mine Nespresso pop just after the Christmas in December for £50

It was 50 or $55 the other night on Woot
Like printers, they make money on the pods
