The problem with sprouts is that they’re perfect carriers for bacteria because of the way they’re grown, and then they are not cooked or irradiated. These bacteria includes some really dangerous strains like e. coli 0157:H7. This characteristic is why Jimmy John’s has had so many foodborne illness outbreaks tied to sprouts, and they are hardly alone.

When I was about 4 years old I did ballet classes at this studio with a bagel shop next to it. After class my mom and I (and sometimes friends) would all go and get bagel sandwiches and I would always get one with extra sprouts. I don’t remember what else was on that sandwich, I just knew I needed my sprouts. I always feel like a kid again eating them and I love it 🌱 💖

Depends on the type of sprouts. The ones you have on your sandwich are tasty, but I don’t much like alfalfa sprouts, they taste like dirt.
