Does anyone else have issues with there Searwood and temperature swings while cooking between 225 and 275? First long cook with it and I’m getting drops of up to 40 degrees consistently. This does not coincide with opening the lid. Using Bear Mountain Oak pellets.

I think this is pretty normal for all but the highest end pellet grills that are built like a tank. Like LSG and maybe Yoder.

I don’t have experience with this weber sear wood, but my old Traeger does this.

Was it particularly cold? I have a Searwood and temperature seems pretty consistent.

If the swing is less than 25° dont worry about it.  We’ve all bought into some collective madness that because the digital thermometer says x it is absolutely precise.  Unless you are baking bread or cakes the meat is just fine.  Many pellet smoker brands intentionally swing the temps to generate smolder and increase smoke flavor.
