I tried the tasting menu at Clove Club this Friday. I actually wanted to try Humble Chicken, but they are closed for renovation after winning their second star. Clove Club is just 5 min from my flat, so thought I would give them a shot instead.

The food was overall very good, with a few highlights being

*Green herb broth
*The fried chicken snack
*Beetroot gazpacho granita (and I don't even like beetroot)
*Raw Orkney scallop (their signature)
*Lamb with date puree and pulled lamb in socca
*Wild fennel granita

It wasn't all good though; the smoked trout felt very tasteless.

Drinks were great, including a particularly good Sangiovese and a sake based cocktail. Fantastic service from all the servers and the sommelier. And the space was very small, with approx 7 tables occupied at a time (including mine), so it felt very personalised.

Overall, not my best tasting menu experience ever, but pretty close to the top.
