Why is my Timberline 1300 leaking grease after I cleaned it?
I took everything out last week and did a deep clean but now it’s leaking grease in between the grill and pellet box. What would cause this?

*What seasoning did you use?
*How long did you cook it, and at what temperature?
*Did you use any special tricks or techniques?

Welding missed?

Did you reassemble correctly? Grease should be running down the pan into the grease bucket.

Cooking on a grade. Improper reassembly. Contrary to popular belief, these aren’t fully welded. They are spot welded and then a high temp sealant is used. Mine did something similar. The heat shield/drip tray were moderately warped. I also cooked on a grade. Grease made it to the bottom of the “barrel” and it leaked between the seam next to the drip bucket. Mine was a 780 pro. Traeger stepped up and replaced the full unit. The drip tray on the replacement was definitely thicker and for some reason, the smoke stack doesn’t come with a felt gasket anymore. It’s not included in the parts or instructions.

For me, I sometimes clean off grease that was a block point for other grease. So when I fire it up, grease will drip from a new spot that was sealed up previously. Usually stops after one cook, and is not very frequent. Maybe happened 4-5 times in 8 years.
