I love this grill. It’s at least 20 years old. It’s still a powerhouse. The question is should I spend $400 on a new manifold to make it new again? It has no rust or wear in the main grill area. She’s lost a door. And some rust in the base. But that’s it in regards to issues. It fires up anytime but the fire is unreliable now. I can’t really walk away from grilling when she’s lit.
But this grill new is $3k. Insane.
Thoughts on the manifold replacement?

$400 vs $3000.
If you don’t want to upgrade to a new model, the manifold replacement is the way to go. She’s a work horse and I bet you could get even get a cabinet base for her for online. I’ve seen a lot of these on Market Place and Offer Up that had issues, but with very good cabinets and frames.
If you do go a full restore route in the future, which I suggest, use Rustoleum clear coat on the lower parts. Spray it on the bottom and underside of the cabinets and it will prevent that kind of rust build up.
I’d invest in new parts. Keep her goin’. I suspect a new one isn’t made as well.

I literally just replaced that same grill as yours with this new one. The old faithful one sat uncovered outside and heavily used for 16 years but at this point would’ve needed an entire retrofit of all internal parts.
