Looks pretty good, actually. At least it’s not just another average vanilla birthday cake because those are pretty lame and don’t even taste that good imo.
I’d take a homemade chocolate cake over a store bought vanilla any day.
BigRegretti
i was gonna say it doesnt look so bad, like its got a sloppy homemade vibe that i like, but then i saw the strand of hair 😭😭😭😭😭😭
TheMysticReferee
Prob tastes good as fuck and that’s all that matters
Severe-Rope-3026
…yeah just give him your butt
njsuxbutt
If you’ve got time, after the cake cools put it in the freezer for about 30 minutes. It will frost more easily and won’t be frozen solid so you can still serve it relatively soon.
SavBoy04
stick some candles in it, light ‘em and you’re good to go. looks fine
Big_Primary2825
Looks tasty
tokenblak
You can do it, Brucie!!!
Lilacsandposies
It looks like you didn’t wait long enough for it to cool off, and it broke while you frosted it. Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us.
It still looks delicious!
stefferier
Looks moist and yummy even tho the icing isn’t perfect. I’m guessing when you iced the cake that it cause the damage to the cake
Zealousideal-Sail893
You didn’t just try, you succeeded. That’s not too bad at and I bet it tastes delicious.

Dog in the house?
ChewedSata
Can I have a slice?
DreamAlter
If the husband doesnt like it, im volunteering
yougotyolks
I’m guessing it was either undercooked or still hot/warm (or both) when you frosted it.
A coating of crushed Oreos on the side would have hidden it. Or trimming off the sides, setting it in the freezer for 30 minutes and re-frosting it.
Still looks delicious! Did you do it completely from scratch or from a box?
ImAlekBan
I would eat it and be happy
slade797
I’d eat the shit out of it
MetaCaimen
In all honesty that shit looks fire ass hell.
sunflower_emoji
Makes me think of the cake from Matilda
In_La_La_Land
Did you try to frost it when it was still warm? Either way I’d smash a piece of that.
User013579
So. Let it cool completely before frosting it.
YoureSpecial
When my wife makes me something, it always tastes awesome even if it’s not good simply because of the love that’s in it.
Same reason mom’s and gran’s cooking is always awesome.
Fluffy-Pomegranate16
Just keep adding icing until it looks good… One package…two? Three maybe?
TheDarbiter
Hey, thanks for reminding me that I was craving box chocolate cake! And that looks delicious
StrawbraryLiberry
You tried. Looks like you’re not that experienced with cake making, but it’s not that hard to learn if you keep practicing.
It stayed together enough to be delicious.
Alarmed-Positive457
Ngl…. I’d smash that cake and be safe I was a fatass and ate it too fast.
marvin676
Choc cake is almost never shitty. This time it’s not shitty either. Sorry.
nejayhawk
It looks delicious! Just use a little milk to thin it out so you can cover it here. I bet it’s great!
AsleepInteraction882
Its the feeling that counts here… and it doesn’t look too bad.
g_r_e_y
he was probably ecstatic, home made anything from my girl breathes new life into me
Cloud_N0ne
It may not look super professional but it looks delicious
splatzbat27
I would inhale that thing. You did something very sweet; I hope your husband loved it!
Puppet007
How did it taste?

Why no slice pic? We need to see the true travesty
ArcRiseGen
The important thing is you tried and that’s so much to love about this post
ButterSlickness
I gotta be honest, if I had someone in my life who loved me enough to try baking and frosting a cake the first time, just the sight of it would make me so happy. Plus, I bet it tastes great.
He must have been very happy with it!
coatsohard
I’d be happy as a clam
Rgg-DND
Did you use butter to grease the pan oil and spray don’t work as good.
TequieroVerde
The title glitch that happened when choosing between the article “the” vs the possessive pronoun “my” before “husband” is pleasantly baked into the cake. That’s magic.
BadAshBaker
Im pregnant and I would eat that entire cake in one sitting.
