
5lbs of onion and a bottle of wine at 9am… didn’t realize how this looked until now.
btw i’m about to try and make french onion soup for the second time! if you look at my other post you will see i made some mistakes, and while it was good i can do better!

Is the wine for deglazing, or drinking?
My only reaction to this other than utterly positive is that whilst Onions remain steady, constant and forever simple (yet complex); wine labels get more and more ridiculous.
Other than that, you keep doing the Onion Lord’s work, friend.
I set a timer once I know how long it takes to get some color on my onions. Once it was every three minutes. Just long enough to brown but not so long it burns, deglaze as required.
I too eat 5 onions and chase it down with a bottle of wine.
It doesn’t really seem that crazy to me. Would’ve been a lot weirder if you’d purchased drano and a tarp.
