And before someone comes at me for the basil, I was showing a newer cook how to chiffonade and they didn’t quite get it. But it was the last of the basil we had 🥴 I’m not shooting for Michelin stars. Just trying to make old folks happy.

Best photos / plating I’ve seen from an assisted living place on this sub. Well done

Question: assisted living with hard breads and bacon? They’ve got teeth there?

Lovely dishes, would happily have you cater my descent into senility.

If I were dying, I would love someone to cook this for me.

As a paramedic/firefighter who constantly has calls at assisted living and nursing homes these kinds of posts make me all warm and happy inside, (so many old folks don’t even have visitors and it makes me sad) thank you for taking good care of them, I know it can be hard but doing this means so much, and all that food looks so good! 💜

As someone who used to work in a retirement center kitchen this looks so much nicer than half the stuff some of our chefs would try to push out our line. Sometimes it was due to budget issues, other times the boss didn’t care. Good job OP!

This is so sweet! Making me a little emotional thinking about old people getting to eat good food.

Shit I hope I have someone who gives half the care you give in their meals when it’s time for me to be in a home. The food looks really good.

I love that you do this for our previous generation. My mom works at an elder care facility… the food she brings home from there, well, it doesn’t look like this.
^(……. It’s really bad)

If I ever wind up living in one of these places I hope the people in the kitchen are like you.
Looks good!

My grandparents chose their independent living place based on the meal they had there. My grandpa loved the food so much it was a done deal on the spot. Every time I visited we ate with them in the dining room and the food was bomb, always impressed with how much care was put into the prep and plating.
Folks in these places may have little going aside from dining, that can be the highlight of their day and where they do most of their socializing. Thank you for going the extra mile for them and making it special. My grandparents had wonderful final years at that place and the kitchen and wait staff were very dear to them. You rock. Really made me smile.
