We just had the first official day of a very busy festival here in Texas, dinner is microwaved ham and cheese on a tortilla

I usually get a meal at work at some point and then go home and immediately shower then sleep ngl

I made some spaghetti. (Dry pasta. Canned sauce, frozen meatballs, grated parm out of the shaker) But damn it was bomb!! Funny thing is I spent like an hour making pappardelle at work today.
Always seems to happen on like Mother’s Day or Easter. I’ll bring home some leftover prime rib, cocktail shrimp, confit duck, whatever. But I end up going for the frozen pizza or like a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch or something when I settle in and actually start to get hungry.
Sometimes I feel like I’ve just looked at the shit for too long ya know?! Lol

I always thought it funny how this worked. Cook all day then when I get home I would rather eat beer and some bread than cook anymore. Really hated the whole “Hey your a cook why dont you man the BBQ!” when I would go to parties and shit.

This was my ghetto food now it’s a plating item.

I have a protein shake and a bar before work. Usually have a couple sliders stacked on a bun or something I toss in the fryer for mid day protein, and then at home I meal prep every week. So I come home to prepared food with a focus on protein and multiple vegetables. Usually finish my day with some fruit, nuts and high protein yogurt. Tonight was rigatoni with Italian sausage, leeks, peppers, mushrooms and spinach braised in tomato and finished with fresh basil. I’ve been bulking and doing 4-5 workouts a week so I’ve been indulging in pasta more.
I’ve been doing this for 25 years. I have another 30ish ahead of me and I need to be fed, and hydrated. My mood at work has shifted dramatically since I stopped being perpetually malnourished.

Lots of pasta just because it’s cheap and I can throw it on to cook whilst having a shower, at work I throw a burger on and take about 3 hours to finish it as all the orders start coming in 😂

I ordered a pizza for pick up only to realize I forgot to hit the order button and instead of ordering and waiting I went home and ate a bag of Doritos
