Photo is a reference of the technique I am going for (credit: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1783112698/wildflower-watercolor-cookies?ref=share_v4_lx&epik=dj0yJnU9MmI0TV9TdG15M0pMYW95QkZRcWw0aTV3UXVPVkg1YWImcD0wJm49eXZoa180dG4wdzdpb3ZOWFJ0cGNIZyZ0PUFBQUFBR2ZNU0JN&load_webview=1&bid=p0_jRvSjKeAXBim8wt1iwD-Z_ylH )

I want to make “watercolor” royal icing cookies. The royal icing being just egg whites and powdered sugar. I want to paint the cookies with gel icing and clear almond extract as well…. HOWEVER… I wanted to do this all ahead of time, a 9 days before I actually need them.

If I freeze them, would they bleed? I read online to freeze sugar cookies in a ziplock, separate with parchment, and defrost on the counter for a couple hours before opening the bag at all. However, I fear this painting method would bleed badly. I just wanted to be sure if anyone had done this before without failure. I appreciate any advice!!
