Broke 2 in my first months with my Spiegelau universal, never had such slim glasses before. Now I don’t put them in the dishwasher if it’s too full and most importantly, I only rinse them and I clean them the day after…;)

“Buy wine you can afford to drink & glasses you can afford to break.” I don’t remember the first time I heard that but it’s served me well.

Thoughts and prayers for your loss. My boyfriend has managed to break the partner of every nice pair of wine glasses I’ve purchased. The ones we’ve found mostly unbreakable and have had the longest are from IKEA, of all places.

Connect them using a cork. Drill tiny holes on each side and stick the remaining two parts from each side.

I had a double wall tumbler shatter in my cabinet for no apparent reason. Good thing I was standing close by and heard the pop or I would have blamed it on my wife😆

I’ll never take my Zalto for granted again.

Could been worse, like happening with a full glass of very expensive wine

Was shaking out water from my zalto universal last month and the stem broke just like yours.

I started a hospitality job 3 years ago and the stemware used was Riedell Veritas. I broke *quite a few* stems those first months.
There’s definitely a delicate touch needed when polishing stemware.

I broke a Zalto once because I pulled the dishwasher rack, it was stuck, and so I yanked it. It was stuck because the glass had tipped over a bit and the base was sticking out of the rack. Oops.
I no longer have any Zaltos. I loved them, but as they broke over time, I replaced them with glasses in a similar style (love that long, skinny stem) that feel a bit less like a failed investment if they break.
