Seared on all sides for 2 minutes exactly then put into oven @400 degrees for 6 minutes only ( last steak I let cook for 10-13 minutes)

  1. Still overcooked for my taste but it still looks very juicy so I bet it was great

  2. RainWaterHarvesting

Should have just let it sit until room temp(2hours) and then seared on all sides 2mins each. Why even use the oven after? Is it just something you saw online? Noticed that in your other post too..

If you’re using a cast iron, you need to get it a little hotter. If you’re not using a cast iron, get a cast iron.

Looks delicious. Probably will be deemed overcooked by many. But I think I would enjoy this.

  5. Keelit579

Medium well, id still eat it especially as its juicy.

  6. IdolCowboy

Yea, a bit overdone for my personal tastes, but it looks good.

I dont like purists snobs that say they won’t cook a steak anything other than med rare or rare at their home. If I have a gathering and someone likes their steak we’ll done (my sister used to), i just throw theirs on first. It’s not a big deal.

I would be okay with it as reheated leftover steaks I warmed up by throwing it in with the eggs. In a restaurant I’d send it back as overcooked.

  8. Rymundo88

More cooked than my personal taste but looks decent.

The eggs, however – I’ve had fried, boiled, poached but never “scraped off the floor” before

  9. Alternative_Topic346

Overcooked for my preference , but probably perfect for many people .

  10. Over, and agree it still looks tasty. Reminds me of how sometimes my burgers lose much pink in the middle when grill heat is off temp, but they are still moist and delish

  11. Schroedingers_Gnat

Not bad, especially if your reheating steak for breakfast.

  12. Perfect steak to me, that’s how I like mine. Also i love the egg and white rice. I’ve just been eating chicken thighs, eggs and rice lately.

  13. Advanced_Pudding8765

If you were going for mid well, you nailed it

  14. Important_Shower_420

Looks good. Remember that you’re cooking for yourself. If you like it it’s perfect.

  15. Ok-Selection4206

Looks medium but looks very tasty, great meal. And if you are a medium guy, it’s perfect!

  16. Conscious-Number8529

Overcooked for my personal preference. Looks like ya pulled it at 138 degrees and it rested to about 143-45. I pull mine at 126 and it rests to 131.

  17. What matters is if it’s cooked to the way you like it. Worry less about others opinions.

That said, since you’re asking it’s a bit overdone for me. Would still smash though.

  18. bamboo-lemur

Medium well – very delicious looking – also looks like it pairs really well with those eggs. I would say it is still overcooked but the overall deliciousness of it makes up for that.

  19. My advice, YOUR steak cook it how you like it. If you are cooking for someone else cook it how they want it.

There is only one way to cook a steak is CRAP.

  20. Dread_Captain

If it is tasty and was cooked to your liking, then it’s not overcooked. Looks like a delicious breakfast to me. Personally, I like mine more medium rare but this still looks super juicy.

  21. Ruby-Orchid

Fuck it, it’s not steak a La Reddit. Who cares? Eat it how you like.

  22. SauronSays909

I love medium rare but a well done steak can still be delicious. Just depends on the context.

  23. flopflapper

It’s closer to medium well than anything, but it looks very juicy and tasty. I prefer mine a good deal less cooked, but some steak snobs would turn their nose up at this and I am not one of them.

  24. pokeyporcupine

Honestly for steak and eggs this looks perfect. I’m a staunch medium rare guy, but for steak and egg breakfast I think it’s better done a little bit more.

  25. AloysiusPuffleupagus

An inch-thick steak cooks pretty much to perfection with three minutes on each side, as long as it’s cooked hot enough. No need for an oven unless it’s two inches thick or more.

That said, your steak looks edible, and as long as that’s how you all like it, then it’s good.

  26. Critical-Werewolf-53

It doesn’t matter what others think. Did you enjoy it?

  27. OneDrunkAndroid

Personally, I would have stopped before any oven time. If you like your steak medium-well that’s okay, but have you tried it medium-rare?

  28. FarmerExternal

Little overdone for my tastes but I would eat every bite. That looks like some juicy meat right there. Still got a little bit of pink so I think the majority of people would be happy if they were served this (I’d be happy too, just wouldn’t be how I would order it)

  29. Dependent_Arm5878

Anyone complaining about that steak still lives in the basement

  30. All that matters is if you like it fuck what everyone else thinks about it

  31. Slight-Feed8457

I think that’s right in the sweet spot. 👌🏼

  32. OdinsReach

“Overcooked” is subjective to temp preference, unless you’re saying you were aiming for a specific doneness. You’re always going to get blasted asking for feedback. If you would have said this was supposed to be medium, then yea it’s overcooked. But if this is how you prefer your steaks, it looks banging. I’d say this is medium well (ish).

  33. Character-Hand-3359

Still looks fine but the eggs are a little mangled

  34. Character-Hand-3359

The steak looks fine but the eggs are mangled is what I meant to say

  35. Naazgul87

Honestly, it looks really tasty. I usually get medium rare but when steak looks like this I’ll crush it too. It’s hard to cook a steak medium-well to well and retain a lot of moisture, seems like you nailed it though

  36. Still overcooked. It looks like a good, juicy medium to medium well, and I’d eat it. But definitely overcooked.
