Sage & Vine, in Carlisle, opened its doors on February 1, 2024, and has since become a popular dining spot.
The restaurant, owned by Jane Beesley, had support from Sofia Giovannini, her daughter, and their team.

She wanted to create a vibrant and sophisticated restaurant serving fresh, flavourful, and authentic Mediterranean dishes.
Ms Beesley and her daughter have been the driving force behind the restaurant’s success.
What sets Sage & Vine apart in Carlisle is their distinctive Sage and Vine Wood Fired Pizza Oven, a feature that no other restaurant in the area possesses.
This oven is central to their menu, offering unique wood-fired pizzas alongside Mediterranean tapas-style dishes.

Ms Beesley has a good understanding of the dining scene, while Ms Giovannini is dedicated to using the finest ingredients for their menu.
Together, they have created a unique dining experience that celebrates Mediterranean flavours.
The restaurant was designed to offer a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a menu that showcases Ms Giovannini’s modern twist on classic Mediterranean dishes
The team also wanted to commit to quality and tradition, laying the foundation for the new venture.
Ms Beesley said: “We are incredibly grateful to our community for embracing Sage & Vine and making this first year so memorable.
“Our journey has been fuelled by our passion for bringing people together over delicious food, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our wonderful customers.
“Here’s to many more years of culinary excellence.”
