Inspired by two recipes from this subreddit! Got the “theater floor” concept from u/syringa who shared a cool idea about a year ago. (Yes I have been thinking about that concept ever since. 😅) Used the base RADS recipe by u/KIRRA386 which it is about my 4th time making! ☺️ (I forgot to press the sides in before baking the first batch so they’re a little wonky.)

Question: what do you guys think about the popcorn look vs no popcorn look? I feel like they have to have the popcorn to be “theater floor” cookies! But I feel like the contrasting color with the cookies makes them less appealing to the eye! Open to any thoughts or ideas.

These look delicious! I wouldn’t worry about the popcorn color but if it bothers you try using Fiddle Faddle or cracker jacks instead.

Those look delicious! Maybe some Werther’s Original Caramel Popcorn for color

Omg, these look so damn good! I’ve never heard of this idea but want to try them out!

That name though! Also, I could seriously devour a few of these in one sitting. Sweet & salty combo is perfection in a cookie!

  6. Are these basically the same as kitchen sink cookies? They look really similar!

Love the flavor execution!! lol I guess I disagree with the caramel popcorn suggestions just because I think for a real “theater floor” flavor you need that butter popcorn—I wonder if smaller chunks, and/or adding them on top of like a chocolate drizzle to stick them on would work well. I’ve tried adding butter popcorn to cookie batter before baking and while I love the flavor the texture gets gross so your adding them afterwards somehow is a great idea! Going a different route, I wonder if it’s possible to add Flavacol to it minus the actual popcorn—it’s the stuff that makes theater popcorn taste the way it does.

Also for some reason “theater floor” just tells me soda or pop rocks integrated somehow. Not sure how to feasibly pull that off but man I would love to try that flavor combo.

They’re pretty underbaked. (The glossiness on top and the raw center).
