Six months after Ocala-News.com first reported that The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill was building out its first location in Ocala, some progress has been made at the new location, with the business still planning to “open soon.”
The new restaurant is currently under buildout at suite 316 in the Market Street at Heath Brook shopping plaza, which is located at 4414 SW College Road in Ocala.
Ocala-News.com first reported the construction of the new Great Greek Mediterranean Grill in April.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill replaces Pie-O-Mine & Greens, which closed its doors in October 2023.
There are currently 51 Greek locations scattered across the United States, including 12 in operation in the state of Florida, and three more in various stages of construction.
According to its website, The Great Greek Mediterranean serves Greek appetizers, dips, sandwiches, platters, entrees, and desserts.
The restaurant also features various souvlaki options, falafel plates, and gyros.
The Market Street at Heath Brook continues to see the addition of new vendors over the past year.
In May, Crumbl Cookies opened its first location in Ocala next door to the future Mediterranean restaurant.
Last September, Pigtails & Crewcuts opened its doors near Zuru Ramen Boba, which opened shortly before that.
Earlier this summer, one of the largest Mediterranean restaurant chains in CAVA announced that it would build its first location in Ocala.
