Luxe French chef Gabriel Kreuther will open two new restaurants in New York City this year. The to-be-named spots — one full-service, the other fast-casual — will debut Hudson Yards development the Spiral, both set to open in fall 2025.

That sit-down spot will be a modern table-service restaurant that will focus on live-fire cooking of seafood, meats, and vegetables through open grills and wood-fired ovens. The casual cafe will offer grab-and-go food for breakfast and lunch. Both will open on the ground floor of the Spiral.

Kreuther is known for his thoughtful Alsatian cooking, cuisine rooted in the northeastern French region of Alsace. He had a long stint as the founding chef of Union Square Hospitality Group’s the Modern. After he left in 2013, he opened his own solo namesake French restaurant in Midtown in 2015, which earned two Michelin stars. He also has his own chocolate shop and helms the kitchen of Midtown hotel restaurant Grand Salon inside the Baccarat.

Kreuther’s new spots are opening as part of the partnership with real estate company Tishman Speyer, which is operating the Spiral. The building’s first restaurant is Japanese Peruvian izakaya Papa San, from the Llama Inn team, which opened in February.
