A new Mediterranean and British-inspired restaurant is set to open in Bury next week. The latest addition to the borough’s dining scene will be located within Red Hall Hotel on the outskirts of Ramsbottom, in the former Oscar’s site.
Named Mélange, which takes inspiration from the French word for ‘a varied mixture’, menus will blend the Mediterranean’s vibrant cuisine with comforting British dining. The new dining spot will be overseen by owners Priyanka and Gourav Batra, who have said they have created a space where ‘every meal feels like a celebration’.
Guests will be able to tuck into dishes such as lamb infused with spices, warm goat’s cheese salad with red wine-poached pear, Mediterranean-style seafood risotto, and sharing platters, mezze and charcuterie boards. The restaurant will also be giving British favourites a unique twist, with creations including buttermilk-soaked fried chicken and Beef Wellington wrapped in Chef’s special pastry.
The restaurant also brings an element of interaction to the table, with dishes that encourage diners to engage with their food, including the signature tapenade served in a mortar and pestle, with freshly baked bread.

Speaking about the restaurant, which will open later this month, owners Priyanka and Gourav Batra commented: “Mélange is about celebrating the warmth of family and friends, the joy of sharing good times, and creating lasting memories.
“It’s where British tradition meets Mediterranean flair, bringing love, life, and laughter to the table. We’ve created a space where every meal feels like a celebration, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”
Replacing the well-known Oscar’s restaurant at Red Hall Hotel, the restaurant’s interiors are designed to evoke the relaxed sophistication of the Mediterranean coast. Lush greenery, natural textures, and a palette of soft blues and sandy beiges have also been incorporated to create a welcoming and elegant atmosphere.

The space, which seats up to 80 guests, will be able to cater to both intimate meals and larger celebrations, and will boast beautiful views of the Lancashire countryside.
Mélange opens its doors next week, with bookings now available. Tables can be booked via OpenTable.
